Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has expressed deep concern over the worsening state of insecurity across Nigeria, warning that the situation is becoming unbearable.
In a recent statement, Obi said the country is gradually turning into a place where human life is treated as expendable, stressing that citizens are increasingly living in fear due to persistent attacks and violence.
He highlighted multiple recent incidents across the country, including killings and abductions in states such as Katsina, Benue, Adamawa, Plateau, Kogi, and Kaduna, noting that the frequency of such tragedies reflects a serious failure in protecting lives and property.
Obi emphasized that no nation can make meaningful progress under the weight of continuous insecurity, insisting that urgent and decisive action is needed to address the crisis.
He further called on leaders at all levels to prioritise the safety of citizens, warning that the current situation must not be allowed to continue.
The remarks add to growing national concerns over insecurity, as stakeholders continue to demand stronger measures to safeguard lives and restore public confidence.
