Senator Datti Baba-Ahmed, the vice presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 election and founder of Baze University, has described President Bola Tinubu as the most powerful political figure Nigeria has ever produced.
Speaking on Mic On Podcast with Seun Okinbaloye, Baba-Ahmed said the president single-handedly brought the late Muhammadu Buhari out of retirement, installed him for eight years, and then arranged for power to be handed back to himself.
He warned that the president has qualified himself for divine intervention because the entire might of Nigeria has been turned against political parties, destroying every opposition platform in just three years.
In Baba-Ahmed’s words: “It has been a government of the politicians, for the privileged, by the powerful. The powerful I’m speaking about are people like Tinubu, who can install Buhari from retirement, make him rule for eight years, and make him hand over to himself. Now do you understand how powerful Tinubu is? That powerful, from outside government, to bring a retired Buhari from retirement and take over from him.”
