Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has vowed that the Nigeria Police Force will remain resolute in the fight against banditry and terrorism despite the tragic loss of three anti-bomb officers killed while protecting lives in Zamfara State.

Disu made the declaration in Gusau during a condolence visit to the families of the fallen officers who died after an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) exploded while they were responding to a bomb alert along the Anka–Bagega Road in Zamfara State.

Those involved in the tragic incident were the Officer Commanding (OC), Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Unit, SP Abdulrazak Musa, Inspector Auwal Ahmad and Inspector Murtala Musa, who paid the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty when an IED exploded along the Anka–Bagega Road in the state.

While mourning the officers, the IGP described them as courageous heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the nation, stressing that their bravery and commitment would never be forgotten.

“We will not succumb to defeat,” Disu assured, emphasizing that the tragic incident would only strengthen the resolve of security agencies to confront criminal elements threatening peace and stability across the country.

The police chief also pledged continued support for the families of the deceased officers and commended security personnel working under dangerous conditions to keep Nigerians safe.

The IGP urged Nigerians to continue supporting security agencies with credible information, noting that collective efforts remain crucial to defeating insecurity and restoring lasting peace.
