Omoyele Sowore, presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), has questioned the Independent National Electoral Commission’s preparedness for the 2027 general elections, expressing doubts about the commission’s commitment to conducting a free and fair poll.
According to a report by Symfoni TV Podcast on Saturday, October 10, 2026, Sowore raised concerns during an interview about INEC’s preparations and the conduct of meetings involving electoral officials and political parties.
The activist described the INEC chairman as a “big talker”, arguing that public statements about preparations for the elections were not enough to demonstrate that the commission was ready to deliver a credible process.
