The management of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Osun state, has rejected allegations by some parents that its admission process is driven by a secret agenda against Yoruba students or any ethnic bias to compromise academic standards.

In a petition dated October 23 and addressed to Akin Okunowo, vice-chancellor and chairman of the university’s governing council, a parent accused the university of discrimination, ethnic marginalisation and abandoning merit in its admission process for the 2025/2026 academic session.
