Nigerian Army Signals Corps strengthens partnership with Armed Forces Resettlement Centre

The Nigerian Army Corps of Signals has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening partnership and collaboration with the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC), Oshodi, Lagos, in furtherance of joint service cooperation and personnel development.
The Commander Corps of Signals (CCS), Major General Tanimu Abdullahi, gave the assurance during a visit by the Commandant, NAFRC, Air Vice Marshal Ignatius Ilo, underscoring the importance of synergy and sustained collaboration with NAFRC, and describing the institution as a critical component of the Armed Forces’ human capacity development framework.He noted that NAFRC’s statutory responsibility of preparing retiring and retired Armed Forces personnel for a smooth transition into civilian life makes it a vital partner within the joint service architecture.Major General Abdullahi explained that the Centre’s focus on vocational training, entrepreneurship development and skills acquisition aligns with the broader objectives of inter-service cooperation, particularly in an era where joint operations and shared institutional support remain essential to operational effectiveness and personnel welfare.The CCS further stated that the Corps of Signals remains the backbone of communication services and information and communication technology (ICT) support for the Nigerian Army. He added that the Corps is open to meaningful collaboration with NAFRC and other relevant organisations to enhance capacity building, knowledge sharing and service delivery across the Armed Forces.He also commended Air Vice Marshal Ilo for his leadership style, describing him as an indefatigable senior officer who places premium on the welfare of his coursemates and subordinates. According to the CCS, such leadership qualities are critical to sustaining morale, professionalism and institutional growth within the Armed Forces.Air Vice Marshal Ilo said that both institutions stand to benefit immensely from closer collaboration, particularly in the areas of training, capacity development and personnel welfare. He pledged his commitment to strengthening the existing relationship between NAFRC and the Corps of Signals and assured that deliberate efforts would be made to elevate the partnership to a higher level of engagement.The Commandant also called on officers and personnel of HQ NAS to continue to support and cooperate with the CCS in order to move the Corps of Signals forward towards the successful achievement of its mandate.

The visit featured a quarter guard, presentation of plaques and a group photograph to commemorate the occasion, further underscoring the cordial relationship between the two institutions.
