The family of late Nollywood comic actor, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, has appealed to Nigerians for support as they continue to face financial challenges following the actor’s death.

Mr Ibu’s widow revealed that she and the actor’s children are struggling to meet basic needs, including the payment of school fees and house rent.

According to the family, the situation has become increasingly difficult despite the widespread love and support shown to the late actor during his lifetime and illness.

They called on well-meaning Nigerians, fans, colleagues, and charitable individuals to assist in ensuring the children’s education is not disrupted and that the family can maintain stable living conditions.

Mr Ibu, one of Nollywood’s most celebrated comedians, passed away in 2024 after battling health complications that led to multiple surgeries and the amputation of one of his legs.

The family’s appeal has sparked reactions on social media, with many Nigerians expressing sympathy and calling for support for the late actor’s loved ones.
