The Lagos State Police Command has discovered and sealed a suspected illegal factory allegedly used to produce and package adulterated alcoholic drinks in the Yafin area of Badagry, Lagos State.
The operation followed credible information from members of the public and led to the arrest of 48-year-old Anaebo Emeka Hilary, who was found at the location of the suspected factory.
Police operatives recovered adulterated alcoholic drinks, empty bottles, different wine labels and various production utensils allegedly used in producing and packaging the drinks. The suspected factory was subsequently sealed.
The suspect has been taken into police custody, while the recovered items have been moved to the station as investigations continue to establish the circumstances surrounding the alleged production and distribution of the adulterated drinks.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, commended the officers involved and urged members of the public to continue providing credible information to the police to support efforts against criminal activities across the state.
