According to a report by The Nation on Friday, July 31, 2026, Senator Ahmed Wadada, the governorship candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State, has declared that only those who do not wish Nigeria well would hope for the failure of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He maintained that the President’s government remains focused on implementing policies aimed at improving the nation’s economy and strengthening development across the country.
The APC chieftain stated that the economic reforms introduced by the Tinubu administration are beginning to produce encouraging outcomes.
According to him, the measures taken by the Federal Government are gradually addressing economic challenges and laying a stronger foundation for sustainable national growth.
Wadada made the remarks while speaking with journalists at the State House in Abuja shortly after meeting with President Tinubu.
During the interaction, he stressed that the administration’s policies have started delivering positive results, adding that several important economic indicators have shown notable improvement since the President assumed office.
He explained that the progress being recorded demonstrates that the Federal Government’s reform agenda is moving in the right direction.
The senator expressed optimism that the benefits of the ongoing economic policies would become more visible over time as the administration continues with its implementation plans.
Speaking on his ambition to become the next governor of Nasarawa State, Wadada said he remains optimistic about his chances in the election.
He attributed his confidence to his long-standing relationship with residents across the state, noting that he has consistently maintained close contact with the people over the years.
The APC governorship candidate said his continuous engagement with communities has enabled him to understand their challenges, expectations and development priorities.
He maintained that his familiarity with the people and their needs has strengthened his connection with the grassroots and positioned him for broad public support.
“I am not a flyover politician. I have been with my people. I am grounded. I know their problems and I know their aspirations, their wishes, and I have, over the years, lived to their wishes and aspirations,” he said.
