Inspector-General of Police Tunji Disu is participating in the United States-Nigeria Joint Working Group meeting in Washington, D.C., alongside senior Nigerian security and government officials. The meeting is being led by National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu.
The discussions are focused on strengthening security cooperation between Nigeria and the United States, with particular attention to counterterrorism efforts and the countries’ broader security partnership.
The meeting provides an opportunity for Nigerian and US officials to review progress made in their security cooperation and identify areas requiring further collaboration. Both countries have continued to work together on security and counterterrorism issues.
Disu’s participation also highlights the role of the Nigeria Police Force in the wider security partnership, as the country continues efforts to improve intelligence sharing, counterterrorism coordination and responses to evolving security threats.
The Washington meeting is part of ongoing high-level engagement between Nigeria and the United States aimed at strengthening their security and diplomatic relationship and developing practical steps to address shared security challenges.
