IGP Disu Orders Fresh Push to Rescue Niger Abduction Victims

Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu has ordered intensified rescue operations following the abduction of worshippers and other residents in communities within the Dekara District of Borgu Local Government Area, Niger State.

Disu visited Niger State on Saturday to assess the security situation and strengthen coordination among security agencies. During his visit to the Government House in Minna, he conveyed the condolences of the Nigeria Police Force to the state government, affected communities and families of the victims.

The IGP assured the Niger State Government that the safe recovery of the abducted persons and the arrest of those responsible remain the focus of ongoing operations. He also commended the state Commissioner of Police, CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman, for the command’s response and timely situation reports.

Addressing officers of the Niger State Police Command, Disu directed them to sustain intelligence-led and professionally coordinated operations, while prioritising the safety of the victims and affected communities.
