Nuhu Ribadu, the national security adviser (NSA), has expressed sadness over the death of Hajiya Umma, mother of Nasir el-Rufai, former governor of Kaduna.
Bello el-Rufai, the ex-governor’s son, announced the death of his grandmother in a post on X on Friday.
Umma reportedly died in Egypt, where she was receiving medical care.
In a condolence message on X, Ribadu said he was “deeply saddened” to learn of her death, recalling personal moments shared with the deceased.
“I have fond memories of shared moments with her and her motherly care,” he said.
Ribadu noted that the loss is profound and difficult to articulate, adding that words may not be enough to console the bereaved family at a time like this.
