According to a report by Daily Post on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, Aminu Tambuwal, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and former governor of Sokoto State, has criticised President Bola Tinubu over his recent remarks about supporting Northern political leaders during their presidential ambitions in previous elections.
Tambuwal faulted Tinubu for claiming that he supported the late former President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2015 and 2019 presidential elections, as well as National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu in 2011 and the ADC presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, in 2007.
He argued that the President should focus on his administration’s performance rather than repeatedly highlighting his past political contributions to Northern leaders.
