Troops of the Nigerian Army have reportedly arrested Wakiil Mama, a politician in Yobe state popularly known as Mai Salati, over alleged terrorism logistics support and links with the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP).
According to Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication focused on the Lake Chad region, Mai Salati was arrested after troops uncovered an alleged attempt to bribe soldiers to release suspects arrested with suspected terrorist logistics in Kanamma, Yobe state.
