The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, has expressed sorrow over the crash of a military aircraft with tail number NAF 931, involving personnel of the Nigerian Armed Forces.
In a statement,the Minister says the incident claimed the lives of brave officers and airmen who were on a routine flight mission, describing them as dedicated patriots who served the nation with courage, professionalism and selflessness.
General Musa extended condolences to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the leadership of the Armed Forces, and the families, colleagues and loved ones of the fallen personnel, commiserated with the families of civilians who were on board the ill-fated aircraft.
The Defence Minister says a comprehensive investigation has commenced to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash and strengthen operational safety measures across military aviation units.
