President Bola Tinubu has urged Nigerian youths to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and participate in the 2027 general election, describing the poll as a defining moment for their future.
Tinubu made the appeal on Saturday, November 7, at the APC campaign rally in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. He told young Nigerians that their votes would help determine the country’s political and economic direction.
“The weapon you have is the PVC. If you have not collected yours, please go ahead,” the President said, insisting that young people could use their votes to support what he described as progressive economic development and the fight against poverty.
He also defended his administration’s economic reforms, claiming they were beginning to improve the country’s financial position. Tinubu recalled that 27 of Nigeria’s 36 states struggled to pay workers’ salaries when he assumed office in May 2023, and argued that the situation had improved under his administration.
