Lauretta Onochie, a Chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC and former presidential aide has taken to her official X handle to raise serious concerns regarding the reality unfolding within the Nigeria political space.
According to the statements which were shared on her official X handle, she pointed out that the recent reality was a dangerous drift towards anarchy.
The de-recognition of the African Democratic Congress, ADC leadership led by Senator David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola had generated grievous concerns amongst the populace after the reports surfaced online.
However, while many believed that the electoral umpire (INEC) was acting in line with a court judgement, others feared that their actions were politically motivated, aimed at crippling the opposition.
Lauretta Onochie, a prominent member of the ADC and erstwhile special adviser on media to former President Muhammadu Buhari in a recent statement, raised serious concerns over the recent occurrences in the political landscape.
According to the statements which were shared on her official X handle on Monday April 6th, 2026 she pointed out that what many were witnessing was not an ordinary contest, but a dangerous drift towards anarchy.
The major goal, according to the outspoken former media aide, was a deliberate attempt to create a one-party state where voices of dissent were punished, opposition voices silent and democratic institutions manipulated to serve the interest of the few.
She further called on lovers of democracy, civil societies and patriots to rise in unison against those whom she believed do not mean well for Nigeria.
