Youths from across West Africa have endorsed the establishment of the West Africa Youth Observers Network (WAYON) as a permanent platform for capacity building, advocacy and exchange among young election observers in the region.
In a communique issued at the end of the West Africa youth democracy conference (WAYDC) held in Dakar, Senegal, participants called for stronger measures to remove legal, financial and digital barriers limiting young people’s participation in politics and governance in the sub-region.
