According to a report by The Nation, on Monday, October 26, 2026, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has declared his support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid, arguing that the President deserves a second term for taking bold economic decisions that previous administrations allegedly avoided.
Wike made the declaration while urging residents of Rivers State to support Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
He described the removal of the petrol subsidy as an example of the President’s willingness to make difficult decisions in the interest of the country’s economy, despite the hardship the policy has caused many Nigerians.
