Human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu has announced the capture of wanted band¡t Abubakar Usman following a fierce gùn battle inside a forest in Delta State.
According to Gwamnishu, the operation began after the rescue of kidnapped v¡ctim Blessing Chiedu, whose abdùctors had demanded a ₦100 million rans0m. Security operatives tracked the gang to their hideout in the Ogwashi-Uku/Adonta Forest, where a gùn battle broke out.
Abubakar Usman was arrested during the operation, while other gang members reportedly escaped into the forest. He is alleged to have been involved in several k¡dnapp¡ng operations across Umunede, Igbodo, and nearby communities.
Authorities say investigations are ongoing as efforts continue to track down the fleeing suspects.
