Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno has received a brand-new Airbus A220-300 into the Ibom Air fleet at Victor Attah International Airport.
Eno said the new aircraft marks another major step in the growth of the state’s aviation sector and the expansion of Ibom Air.
He thanked Senate President Godswill Akpabio, President Bola Tinubu and Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo for their support, particularly in securing international status for the airport.
The governor also highlighted the state’s investment in aviation manpower, saying 14 of Ibom Air’s 30 pilots and 16 of its 40 aircraft engineers are Akwa Ibom indigenes trained by the state government, with more currently undergoing training.
The aircraft arrival also marks the beginning of the commissioning of 39 projects to celebrate Akwa Ibom’s 39th anniversary under the theme, “Our Moment of Gratitude.”
