The Nigeria Police Force says the regulation of cattle grazing within the Federal Capital Territory is outside its statutory responsibility.
The clarification follows growing public concerns over the presence of cattle and open grazing in parts of the nation’s capital.
Speaking at the monthly Joint Security and Law Enforcement Agencies Media Briefing at the Office of the National Security Adviser, the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Aniete Eyoh, explains that the Police have no mandate to regulate cattle grazing.
The briefing also featured operational updates from security and law enforcement agencies, highlighting their activities and achievements over the months of July and August.
