Troops of Operation WHIRL STROKE, working with the Nigerian Police Force and local vigilantes, have rescued seven kidnapped victims from a suspected kidnappers’ enclave in Ohimini Local Government Area of Benue State.

The operation was carried out on September 14, 2026, following credible intelligence on the activities of suspected kidnappers operating around Amla-Icho, Ogobia and Anpekchi communities in the area.

According to the Joint Task Force, the troops launched an intelligence-led search and rescue operation in the identified locations. The suspected kidnappers reportedly fled into the surrounding terrain after sighting the advancing troops, abandoning the victims behind.

The seven victims were immediately secured and rescued from the area. A vehicle linked to the criminal operation was also recovered and handed over to the Nigerian Police Force for further action.

Operation WHIRL STROKE commended the troops, police and local vigilantes for their swift response and cooperation, while urging residents to continue providing credible and timely information to security agencies to support ongoing efforts against kidnapping and other criminal activities.
