Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have arrested six suspected terrorist logistics suppliers and recovered a large consignment of items believed to be destined for terrorist groups during an intelligence-led operation in Borno State.
The operation was carried out at about 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 19, 2026, along a suspected terrorist supply route, where security forces intercepted five vehicles transporting the materials.
Items recovered include 202 cartons of herbicides, a Starlink satellite internet system, six bags of NPK fertiliser, one jerrycan of suspected acid, 10 bags of rice, 50 hoes, and 20 packs of knapsack sprayer pumps. The military said some of the items, particularly the fertiliser and suspected acid, will undergo forensic analysis to determine whether they were intended for the production of improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
The suspects and all recovered items have been handed over to the Military Intelligence Regiment for further investigation to identify the intended recipients, sponsors, and other members of the suspected terrorist logistics network.
Operation HADIN KAI said sustained attacks on terrorist supply chains have weakened insurgent groups, with intelligence from rescued hostages and surrendered terrorists indicating that shortages of food, medical supplies, communication equipment, and other essential materials have forced many fighters to abandon their camps and captives.
