Politics is expensive; someone must bear the cost, whether in time, resources, sacrifice, or reputation. No meaningful political ambition comes without investment, commitment, and unforeseen surprises or bottlenecks. Things can suddenly take an entirely new direction and push you out of the race.
The crown, or leadership, is heavy, but someone must wear it. Leadership carries enormous responsibility, difficult decisions, and constant scrutiny, yet progress only happens when someone is willing to assume that burden. There is no two ways about it. Leadership qualities are often inbuilt; if you don’t have them, you simply don’t have them.
Every journey must have a beginning and an end. Good drivers have ‘ Journey-Plans’ – they plan their journeys ahead , they study the route, prepare their vehicles, and anticipate challenges. Unorganized drivers, however, simply set off without preparation, often encountering avoidable obstacles along the way. This also applies to politics, at whatever stage.
To contest an elective position, first-rate politicians plan carefully and execute their strategies with precision. They build structures, consult widely, mobilize support, and move step by step, knowing that success in politics rarely comes by chance but through deliberate and disciplined effort. Old methods do work, but those who mix the old method with the science of politics and the ‘moment’ have upper hand!
There is no room for emotion -you either strike, or you will be struck.
