States have ramped up spending on critical services after getting bigger cheques from the federation account, but development partners and officials are urging them to prove they’re spending the money wisely. Abdullahi Sule, Nasarawa State governor, told delegates at the 32nd Nigerian Economic Summit that improved allocations have allowed his state to build infrastructure and expand social services without borrowing heavily from commercial banks.
