Vice-President Kashim Shettima has expressed condolences to the family of the late 16th Emir of Gumel, Alhaji Dr Ahmed Muhammad Sani II, CON, describing his death as a profound loss to Jigawa State and Nigeria.
Shettima, who visited Jigawa State on behalf of President Bola Tinubu and the Federal Government, commiserated with the royal family, Gumel Emirate Council, Governor Umar Namadi, and the people of the state.
He described the late monarch as part of a generation of traditional rulers whose influence extended beyond the palace through peacebuilding, education, community development and efforts toward national cohesion.
Shettima prayed for Allah’s forgiveness and mercy for the late Emir and for strength for his family, the Emirate and the people of Jigawa State to bear the loss.
