The Nigeria Police Force says it has recorded a major breakthrough in the investigation into the murder of Bishop Chinedu Clarence James, following the recovery of his stolen Toyota Land Cruiser and the arrest of two suspects linked to the crime.

The operation, carried out by the Anambra State Police Command, followed credible intelligence that the stolen vehicle was being moved to Onitsha for sale.

Police operatives, acting on the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, tracked and intercepted the suspects during a coordinated intelligence-led operation.

Preliminary investigations revealed that one of the suspects allegedly contacted his cousin in Onitsha to help secure a buyer for the vehicle after the bishop was abducted and murdered in Delta State on May 12.

The suspects were arrested at the point of sale, while the Toyota Land Cruiser was recovered as vital evidence.

Meanwhile, the Police say investigations have intensified to dismantle the entire syndicate behind the kidnapping, murder, and attempted sale of the stolen vehicle.
