The Northern Senators Forum has condemned last Friday’s terrorist attack in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State during which gunmen abducted hundreds of worshippers at Kpenya Mosque after Jumat prayers.
In a statement by the Chairman Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’Adua describes the security breach which also occured in gidan Zana and Kpenya villages, as barbaric.
The forum calls on the Nigerian Armed Forces, Police and DSS to intensify rescue operations for the safe release of all abductees.
The Forum also urges the Federal Government to send urgent relief and strengthen security in Borgu and other border communities.
