The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested Lagos-based socialite and luxury-goods businessman Afolabi Kazeem Michael, popularly known as KC Luxury, over his alleged role in an international cocaine trafficking network.
The arrest followed the seizure of 184.5kg of cocaine concealed in a consignment at a courier facility in Lagos. NDLEA Chairman Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (retd.) described it as the largest cocaine seizure involving a courier company in the agency’s history.
Marwa said KC Luxury was arrested at the boarding gate of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on August 13, 2026, after intelligence indicated that he was preparing to leave Nigeria on a business-class flight to Paris.
Another suspect, Lawal Mujab Kehinde, a logistics company employee, was also arrested. NDLEA said investigators worked with the courier company to trace individuals allegedly connected to the shipment and the wider network.
The agency valued the seized cocaine at approximately $27.7 million and said the shipment was allegedly destined for the United Kingdom, other European countries and parts of Asia. NDLEA also said the suspected network could have generated up to ₦39 billion from the consignment.
According to NDLEA, investigators identified KC Luxury as an alleged Nigerian coordinator or “arrowhead” of the network. The agency said he publicly presented himself as a businessman involved in gold, jewellery and luxury goods.
Following his arrest, NDLEA said operatives recovered €7,750, £2,800 and ₦100,000, along with expensive jewellery. A subsequent search of his luxury apartment in Banana Island, Lagos, also reportedly led to the recovery of exotic vehicles.
NDLEA said the investigation is continuing to identify other people allegedly involved in the trafficking network. Marwa also said suspected members of the same network had been arrested by authorities in the United Kingdom.
