Lai Mohammed, former minister of information, has urged political actors and other stakeholders to ensure that the 2027 elections do not distract Nigeria from addressing its security and economic challenges.
Mohammed spoke on Thursday at the Freedom Online lecture in Lagos, where he delivered a paper on the theme, ‘2027 Elections: Economy, Security and Nigeria’s Future’.
He said the election should be approached as part of Nigeria’s broader nation-building process rather than simply a contest for political power.
