Former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has announced his participation in the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting alongside the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and other prominent leaders.

The meeting, held in Abuja on Monday, October 26, 2026, coincided with the commissioning of the party’s new national headquarters in Jabi and preparations for the 2027 general elections.

Kwankwaso said the gathering reaffirmed the party’s commitment to purposeful leadership, internal democracy and people-centred governance.

He stressed the need to address Nigerians’ concerns over insecurity, economic hardship, unemployment and limited opportunities, while expressing confidence that unity, discipline and a clear vision could help build a stronger political movement.

The NDC also inaugurated its National Campaign Council as it strengthens its organisational structure ahead of the 2027 elections, with Peter Obi serving as chairman of the party’s presidential ticket and Kwankwaso as his running mate.
