Former Jigawa State Governor Mohammed Badaru Abubakar and Governor Umar Namadi have appeared together publicly at the wedding of Deputy Governor Aminu Usman’s son in Dutse, after more than two years of reported political differences between their camps.

The ceremony was held on Monday, August 10, for Usman Aminu Usman and Khadija Tasi’u Ishaq.

Governor Namadi, who served as the bride’s guardian, gave Khadija out in marriage, while Badaru represented the groom.

The appearance of the two APC leaders together has sparked speculation about a possible reconciliation ahead of the 2027 elections.

Political differences between supporters of Badaru and Namadi have reportedly divided the Jigawa APC, with some politicians associated with the former governor moving to opposition parties or losing their APC tickets.

However, Badaru and Namadi themselves have largely avoided a direct public confrontation.

While their appearance together could signal a thaw in relations and potentially strengthen the APC ahead of 2027, it remains unclear whether the meeting represents a lasting political reconciliation or simply a show of respect at a family occasion.
