Christopher Piwuna, president of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), is also a consultant psychiatrist at the University of Jos (UNIJOS) Teaching Hospital. He emerged as the 14th president of ASUU at the 23rd national delegates congress of the union held in May 2025, taking over from Victor Osodeke, a professor of soil science from the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Abia state.
In this interview with TheCable’s IMOLEAYO OYEDEYI, Piwuma discusses the union’s renegotiated agreement with the federal government and recent educational deals signed by the government.
