The Nigerian military, in close coordination with the US Africa Command, has continued sustained counterterrorism operations against ISIS-linked fighters in North East Nigeria with another successful air interdiction mission conducted in the general area of Metele.
Acting on credible intelligence and sustained aerial surveillance which confirmed the convergence and movement of terrorist elements within the area, multiple precision air strikes were executed, leading to the neutralisation of over 20 ISIS/ISWAP fighters.
The ongoing offensive follows the recent elimination of notorious ISIS commander Abu-Bilal al-Minuki and forms part of broader efforts aimed at dismantling terrorist networks, degrading their operational capabilities, and denying them freedom of action or safe haven anywhere within Nigerian territory.
The Nigerian Military emain resolute and unwavering in their commitment to protecting citizens, defending national sovereignty, and restoring lasting peace and stability across all troubled areas. Terrorists and all criminal elements threatening national security will continue to be identified, targeted, and decisively defeated wherever they attempt to hide.
