Amina Mohammed, deputy secretary-general of the United Nations (UN), has asked the federal government to develop policies that will allow farmers to benefit from local production of fertilisers.
Mohammed, also the chair of the United Nations Sustainable Development Group, was responding to questions on food security and access to fertilisers for Nigerian smallholder farmers in an interview with TheCable in Washington DC.
