The FCT Police Command has confirmed the collapse of a building on Abidjan Street, Wuse Zone-3, Abuja noting that no casualty recorded yet but efforts are on to ensure no one is trapped in the rubble.
The Command says the incident occurred at about 7:45 pm Nigeria time, September 7, 2026, prompting the immediate deployment of police and other emergency agencies for search and rescue operations.
It notes preliminary findings indicate that the building had earlier been marked and sealed by the FCT Department of Development Control.
The force says investigation is underway to establish the cause of the collapse, while urging residents to keep away from the area and cooperate with emergency responders.
