The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, has charged troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) to sustain offensive operations against Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists, assuring them of improved welfare and operational support.

Shaibu gave the charge on Saturday, October 17, 2026, while addressing troops at the 212 Tank Battalion Parade Ground in Maiduguri, Borno State, during an operational assessment visit to the North-East theatre.

He commended the troops for their sacrifices and operational successes, urging them to consolidate their gains, maintain discipline and intensify efforts to defeat terrorism.

Reaffirming his Soldier First philosophy, the COAS pledged improved combat equipment, accommodation, medical care and timely troop rotation to boost morale and operational effectiveness.

He also received an operational briefing from Theatre Commander, Major General Ademola Ajose, and sector commanders on the security situation and emerging challenges, before visiting wounded soldiers and assuring them of continued medical care, rehabilitation and institutional support.
