Breaking: Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, is reportedly set to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC) after initially indicating interest in joining the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The development follows a recent visit by the National Chairman of the APC to Bauchi, after which sources say the governor reconsidered his earlier position.
His decision is also believed to be linked to the stance of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which recently stated that it does not recognise the leadership of the ADC led by David Mark a faction the governor had previously been associated with.
As part of the reported arrangement, Governor Bala is said to have been offered the Bauchi South senatorial seat currently held by Buba.
In addition, he is also expected to take control of 60 percent of the APC’s political structure in the state.
There has been no official confirmation from the governor or the APC regarding the development as of press time.
