Hon. Bello El-Rufai, a member of the House of Representatives representing Kaduna State, has reacted strongly to a social media user who warned him against speaking about the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The exchange occurred on Saturday, May 30, 2026, after the lawmaker made comments online that drew reactions from supporters and critics of the current government. An X user had cautioned Bello El-Rufai to be careful with his remarks, warning that he could face consequences if he continued to speak freely about the administration.

The user wrote that if the lawmaker allowed his “mouth run anyhow” and made statements capable of getting him “caged,” then he would eventually face detention and “heaven will not fall.”

Reacting to the warning, Bello El-Rufai dismissed the criticism and issued a defiant response through his official X handle. The lawmaker insisted that he was not reckless with his words and stated that he remained committed to working with his supporters and constituents.

According to him, the National Assembly would resume next week, adding that he was ready for anyone who intended to intimidate him. Bello El-Rufai also challenged the individual behind the comment, saying neither the user nor those being praised online could silence him.

In his response, the lawmaker declared that he had not even begun expressing his full views, suggesting that he would continue speaking despite the warning. His comments have since generated reactions on social media, with many users debating freedom of expression, political criticism, and the growing tension within Nigeria’s political space.

The online confrontation highlights the increasingly heated nature of political discussions on social media, especially concerning the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
