The Bauchi state government has shuttered 25 cattle markets across four LGAs as part of efforts to disrupt the logistics and financial networks of armed groups operating in the state.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Mukhtar Gidado, special adviser on media and publicity to the governor, said the decision was approved by Bala Mohammed, the state governor, and affects markets in Alkaleri, Bauchi, Kirfi and Tafawa Balewa LGAs.
