Supporters of Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, have defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), marking a significant shift in the state’s political landscape ahead of the 2027 elections.
The defection followed a series of consultations among key stakeholders loyal to the governor, who cited the lingering internal crisis within the PDP as a major reason for the move. Party members expressed concerns over instability and uncertainty within the opposition party, which they said could affect their political future.
