Bauchi APC Caucus Sets To Receive Governor Bala Mohammed After Consultation

According to a report by Leadership, on Friday April 10, 2026, Bauchi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has stated that it is prepared to receive Governor Bala Mohammed following ongoing consultations over his planned defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

‎This was disclosed after a series of meetings between APC caucus members and the governor in Abuja, party leaders said the discussions focused on his possible move to the APC and how it would affect the political landscape in Bauchi State.

‎According to members of the caucus, the governor met with party stakeholders to brief them on developments surrounding his decision, they described the engagement as open and productive, saying it helped both sides understand each other better.

‎After the meeting with the governor, APC caucus members held another internal session to update the wider party structure on the outcome of their discussions, they explained that the consultations were part of efforts to manage the defection process in an orderly manner.

‎Party leaders stated that the move is in line with efforts to strengthen the APC under the Renewed Hope agenda of the federal government, they noted that national leaders of the party have encouraged them to welcome the governor if he eventually joins.

‎A member of the caucus representing Toro Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Dabo Isma’il, said the party is committed to unity and internal stability, he added that consultations were necessary to ensure proper alignment and agreement on key issues before any final decision is made.

‎He assured party members that no one would be sidelined or victimized in the process, stressing that the APC is focused on building a stronger and more united platform in the state.
