The All Progressives Congress (APC) has concluded a four-day retreat in Maiduguri, Borno State, with the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), state chairmen and other key stakeholders focusing on strengthening party organisation, unity and electoral preparedness ahead of the 2027 elections.
APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda said the retreat, held under the theme, “Strengthening Party Organisation, Unity and Electoral Readiness Towards 2027,” provided an opportunity for members to assess the state of the party, discuss challenges and develop strategies for the future.
According to Yilwatda, discussions during the retreat focused on strengthening party structures, improving internal organisation, deepening unity and cohesion, and enhancing the party’s readiness for the 2027 electoral cycle. He said the sessions were characterised by what he described as candid, robust and forward-looking engagements.
The APC chairman stressed that a strong political party requires sustained organisation, effective leadership and continuous engagement with its members beyond election periods. He said participants returned to their respective responsibilities with renewed energy, clearer perspectives and a stronger commitment to building the party.
Yilwatda also thanked the Borno State Government and people of the state for hosting the retreat and expressed the party’s commitment to consolidating the gains of the Renewed Hope Administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and preparing for the 2027 elections.
