Beneficiaries of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) in Anambra State have donated ₦10.7 million towards the purchase of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 expression of interest form, while also endorsing him for a second term in office.
The students made the presentation during an event held at the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Igbariam campus, describing the donation as a show of appreciation for the Tinubu administration’s education reforms and youth-focused policies.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Joint Campus Council in Anambra State, Ifeanyichukwu Chukwuemeka, said the NELFUND initiative had significantly reduced financial burdens on students and improved access to higher education across Nigeria.
According to him, the ₦10,735,500 donation was a symbolic gesture to support President Tinubu’s re-election ambition in recognition of what he described as transformative educational policies introduced by the current administration.
The students also expressed appreciation to Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, for his support toward educational development and student welfare in the state. They further commended businessman Obinna Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana, alongside other youth mobilisers, for encouraging youth empowerment initiatives in the South-East.
The development comes amid increasing political endorsements and early mobilisations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
