An aide to Nigeria’s Minister of Power, Bayo Adelabu, has dismissed reports linking the minister’s Personal Assistant, Ajiboye Sangogade, to the kidnapping of Adelabu’s sister and her children.
The aide described the allegations as false and misleading, warning individuals and platforms spreading the claims to desist immediately.
According to the statement, there is no evidence connecting Sangogade to the abduction, and attempts to associate him with the incident amount to defamation.
The aide further warned that legal action could be taken against those responsible for circulating what was described as unfounded accusations.
The clarification comes amid ongoing public interest in the kidnapping case, which has generated widespread reactions and speculation on social media.
Authorities are continuing investigations into the abduction, while those close to the minister have urged the public to avoid spreading unverified information that could undermine the investigation.
