The Nigerian Conservation Foundation (NCF) says Nigeria has lost about 95 percent of its vulture population over the past 15 to 20 years.
Joseph Onoja, director-general of NCF, spoke in Abuja on Tuesday at a regional workshop on strengthening coordination and implementation of vulture conservation efforts in West Africa.
The workshop was organised by NCF, BirdLife International and other conservation partners.
