Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (rtd.), has held a strategic meeting with Italy’s Chief of Defence Staff, General Luciano Portolano, to strengthen defence cooperation and security partnerships between both countries.
The meeting took place on October 27, 2026, on the sidelines of the Africa International Defence Exhibition (AFRIDEX 2026) in Lagos.
Discussions focused on deepening military relations, expanding security partnerships and exploring areas of bilateral defence cooperation between Nigeria and Italy.
The meeting formed part of a series of high-level engagements hosted by the Nigerian defence minister during the exhibition.
