Troops of Sector 2, Operation Fansan Yamma, have neutralised two explosive devices allegedly planted by terrorists along the Magami–Hannutara–Dansadau road in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State. The operation prevented a potential attack on commuters using the route.
The military said the troops acted on credible intelligence, secured the affected area and searched the road, where they identified two locations containing explosive devices.
An Explosive Ordnance Disposal team was deployed to handle the threat. One device was destroyed, while the other was recovered and safely rendered harmless, according to the military.
Troops have intensified patrols and surveillance along the route to protect residents and prevent further threats. Members of the public were urged to remain vigilant and report suspicious objects or activities to the nearest security agency.
