Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has described the opening of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery’s initial public offering (IPO) on the Nigerian Exchange Group as a major milestone for Nigeria’s capital market and economy.
Sanwo-Olu joined Aliko Dangote at the Nigerian Exchange in Lagos for the opening of the IPO, which marks the first time a refinery is being offered on the Nigerian Exchange in its 66-year history.
The governor said the development reinforces Lagos’ position as a major investment destination, stressing that his administration remains committed to creating an environment where businesses can grow and investors can find new opportunities.
He said the state would continue to support policies and initiatives that make it easier to do business, attract major investments and create opportunities for businesses and residents.
Sanwo-Olu added that the Dangote Refinery listing represents another important step for Nigeria’s capital market, expressing optimism that more investments and businesses would thrive in Lagos.
